There are no Christmas decorations hanging inside nor out of our current tiny home. In fact, there aren't many decorations period. No pictures on the walls, no pretty partylite candles and holders, no books lining the shelves. There are, though, plenty of boxes lining the floors in several rooms of our house. Boxes marked "living room decor", "kitchen appliances", "books", and "pictures" hardly count for decoration. This is all a bit depressing, considering my love of Christmas and Christmas decorations. In less than two weeks our belongings will all be put into a house which will begin renovations immediately. My chance at putting up some Christmas decorations? Very slim. Perhaps we can make up for it next year, in a finished home with new decorations. For now, I'll count my blessings and remember that this season isn't about sipping hot cocoa on a cozy couch with a warm blanket, christmas music playing, and white lights shining out to a snow covered world... its about Him. He is definately all I need. I'm blessed.

Don't worry, the stress of moving will be over with before you know it, and next year you will have a magnificently decorated house....anyways at least you got to share my holiday decorating....I appreciated that very much!!!

I know the feeling! Last Christmas, Darren & I spent the holiday on camping chairs and a cutout posterboard of a Christmas tree scotch taped to the wall. LOL We were in the process of moving to GA and all of our belongings were in boxes somewhere in route. The most important thing to remember: the love for your family & friends and your love for Christ! That's all we really need! :)
Miss you!- at 9:44 PM said...
Well, if it helps to hear from this end of a move, the next year is only made more special by being able to spend Christmas with all the decor and celebration! (We moved into this house on Dec 14th.) Almost daily for the past week, Daniel or I look at the other and say, "Isn't Christmas nice this year???" Not that it wasn't nice last year, but it was definitely a bit more hectic and thrown together. We're enjoying taking our time with traditions this year instead of trying to pack everything in about 1.5 weeks!!! :)
You'll get there... One day this will just be a "Remember the year...?" and you will both laugh.
Hope you get settled in sooner rather than later, all the same!
