8 months old and pigtails

I remember when friends and family had 8-month-olds and I would always proclaim how this had to be my absolute favorite baby age. True to my 8 month-old loving self, I adore my daughter at this age. (Then again, if you had asked me at every other month milestone, I would have told you that was my favorite too. Silly.)

Now she's here at that great 8 months and she is her own whole person, with her own big personality. She even has two teeth coming in. I'm not sure when it happened, but Annabelle enjoys screaming and growling for pleasure. Yeah. She sits up all on her own, which is so nice for me. She stands and attempts to walk when someone just holds her hands. She gives hugs and kisses when requested. She has enough hair for pigtails. Pigtails!

I'm loving every 8 month-old sloppy kiss, pigtail, yell-for-the-fun-of-it minute.

We get a view of this each time we glance out our kitchen windows. After watching this tree last Spring turn into a bit of blunder for growth, these bright purple and pink flowers make me happy.

This little lady is cutting her first tooth. She seems so big to be me lately. Especially with the idea of teeth in her little mouth. Funny.
R.Jay started his new job. (For those who don't know - R.Jay's company is laying off 75% of their employees, so the job hunt began.) While the new job is exciting and in the long run financially better, we miss having him home at 3pm. We now wait until 5:00 with anxious eyes. The plus? He's welding in Massena this week... which means he gets to pick up Sergie's tomorrow night on his way home. Nice.
I suppose that is it. I hear a little voice awake from a nap.

Yay.

In a week and a half my entire upstairs will have brand new carpeting. I doubt I could really tell you how happy this makes me.

Tomorrow we get to go see a new baby and laugh with great friends, who just happen to be related.

There is a possibility my husband may have a couple days off next week. To say we don't spend enough time together is an understatement and the idea of spending a whole day with my best friend is thrilling.

Annabelle is a hoot. No, really. She's really becoming quite goofy in her little girl baby-ness.

My small lilac tree is beginning to bloom. A little later than others around town, but the wait is half the fun. The other half is a pretty smelling bouquet on my table to come.

Yay for excitement and joy and newness. Yay for blessings and love from a God who is small enough to reach down into my little world. Yay.
