Shopping malls, yummy food, game nights, sock skating, Myrtle Beach, gift-giving, movie nights, silly sisters, and PICTURES to prove the madness.

Merry Christmas

Long lay the world in sin and error pining.
Till He appeared and the soul felt its worth.
A thrill of hope the weary world rejoices,
For yonder breaks a new and glorious morn.
Fall on your knees! Oh, hear the angel voices!
O night divine, the night when Christ was born!

looking ahead

Tomorrow all of our belongings will be set chaotically into a new house around the corner.
Tomorrow we'll sit in a lawyers office and sign some pretty important papers.
Friday I will get to see a great friend who I haven't seen enough of in the last two years and a great friend who blesses me each time I steal of moment of her time.
Friday evening we'll snuggle into my big sister's apartment for an early bedtime, only to rise in the early morning hours and travel to warmer weather.
Next week will find us, toes in the sand, ocean air through our hair and my family all around us.

Lots to look foward to!

Each day passes and I wonder how it seems others can stay on top of things but I can't.
My house is never ahead. By ahead I mean things are neat, orderly, clean and all I have to do is make sure my slippers aren't crooked before hoping into crisp clean bed sheets every day. I'm not lazy... in fact, most of the day you'll find me organizing, cleaning, and wondering why on earth I'm not "ahead".
And here we go... home number 2 for us. A home full of construction-pending rooms to be done, a home full of possibilities and dreams. A home to try and get ahead on. Is it possible?

There are no Christmas decorations hanging inside nor out of our current tiny home. In fact, there aren't many decorations period. No pictures on the walls, no pretty partylite candles and holders, no books lining the shelves. There are, though, plenty of boxes lining the floors in several rooms of our house. Boxes marked "living room decor", "kitchen appliances", "books", and "pictures" hardly count for decoration. This is all a bit depressing, considering my love of Christmas and Christmas decorations. In less than two weeks our belongings will all be put into a house which will begin renovations immediately. My chance at putting up some Christmas decorations? Very slim. Perhaps we can make up for it next year, in a finished home with new decorations.

For now, I'll count my blessings and remember that this season isn't about sipping hot cocoa on a cozy couch with a warm blanket, christmas music playing, and white lights shining out to a snow covered world... its about Him. He is definately all I need. I'm blessed.
