In a moment...

it all becomes real. How amazing is it that one tiny heartbeat can have such an effect on our lives and render me tearful!
Today was my 16 week visit with my midwife (whom I'm loving more and more with each visit). That heartbeat we've been so longing to hear clearly was loud, strong, and relatively fast. My midwife informs me she can always hear lots and lots of movement. I suppose this baby takes after his/her father as the adventurer on the go.

Hearing a baby's heartbeat is such an amazing and wonderful thing! It always leaves me in absolute awe too!

I have been feeling pretty well overall. I've had good days and not so good days. I really don't throw up, I just feel a bit nauseated. I really have very mild pregnancy symptoms compared to a lot of people! Extreme exhaustion has been my problem this time around. Having older kids has really compounded the tiredness!

I'd say the baby takes after you both with always being on the move!!!

So I thought I'd left a comment on here the other day, but obviously it didn't work. Oops.

I don't remember what I wrote, except that I'm glad you heard the heartbeat-- there's nothing like that moment (every time)! Does Alison see you less than every 4 weeks?

Stopped by and noticed your ticker says 17 weeks today, so...

1. congrats!
2. does this mean you're not actually due on my birthday any more? :(

I'm feeling fine, which actually doesn't make all this sitting around any easier. It's hard to not be frustrated by all that's not getting done when I feel totally capable but ought not do the job. :( I keep telling myself that in 10 years I won't remember what chores went undone, but I will remember the reading, resting, and healing that has been taking place... right?!?! ;)

I'm glad to know that you're still due at least around the 6th. I can hope for a shared birthday that way! (I always liked where my birthday fell in the year-- still nice weather but not too hot and icky. If I hadn't been homeschooled I might have wished it was a couple weeks earlier, but as it was I thought it was a great time! Especially as I got older and started always getting nice sweaters, jackets, etc. as gifts-- you know, all the "fall" kind of clothing I tend to be partial to!)
